Mesut Ozil, former Arsenal midfielder, declared his support for Tottenham in the duel against Manchester City this Tuesday, at 4pm (Brasília time), in London, for the 34th round of the English Championship, which was delayed. This is because, in the event of a Spurs win or draw, the Gunners’ title chances increase.
“For the first and only time tonight: COME ON, SPURS! If Tottenham don’t lose this game, I will never make fun of them again… I promise,” Ozil said on his social media.
First time ever tonight: COME ON YOU SPURSSS!! 😁 If Tottenham don’t lose this game I will never make fun of them again… I promise 🤞🏼 #MCITOT

Arsenal are top of the Premier League, with 86 points from 37 games, and need help from their rival Tottenham to stay in first place. Manchester City occupies second place, with 85 points, but has one game less.
If Spurs win, Arsenal would only depend on themselves to be champions. With a draw in the duel, the teams would reach the final round tied on points. Finally, if Manchester City wins, they will have a two-point lead in the final round.
Tottenham are in fifth place, with 63 points, and still dream of a place in the Champions League. To achieve this, they will have to win their two remaining games and hope for a stumble in the last round of Aston Villa, fourth placed, with 68.
The last round of the English Championship will be held next Sunday, at 12pm (Brasília time). Check out the duels of the teams involved in the disputes:
- Arsenal x Everton
- Sheffield United x Tottenham
- Manchester City x West Ham
- Crystal Palace x Aston Villa
