The Russian youth ice hockey team lost to the Canadian team in the test match in Edmonton before the World Youth Championship (MFM) – 2022, the Lenta.ru correspondent reports.
The meeting ended with a score of 6: 4 (4: 0, 1: 3, 1: 1) in favor of the Canadians.
Among the Russians were Nikita Chibrikov (23), Matvey Michkov (31, 60) and Alexander Pashin (38). The goals for the Canadian national team were Mason McTavish (7th minute and 37th), Ridley Greig (8), Kent Johnson (13), Lucas Cormier (17) and Connor Bedard (50).
The Ice Hockey World Youth Championship will take place from December 26 to January 5. The tournament will be hosted by Canadian Edmonton and Red Deer. Russia will play in the group stage with the USA, Sweden, Slovakia and Switzerland. Of the five teams, four will advance to the playoffs.
