Australian Ange Postecoglu, coach of Tottenham, questioned, this Monday, the fans of his team who will support Manchester City. The London team faces the Manchester team this Tuesday (14), in a delayed match of the 34th round of the English Championship.
With two games remaining, Manchester City has 85 points, one behind Arsenal, the current leader and Tottenham’s biggest rival. The team led by Ange could “hand over the title” to their rivals, which doesn’t please a large part of the fans.

Postecoglu was outraged by the number of fans who are declaring support for Manchester City against their own team, saying that the rivalry is not about that.
“If you go through social media, 99% of them (Tottenham fans) will want the team to lose. (…) I understand rivalries, I was part of one of the biggest rivalries in the world between Celtic and Rangers (Ange coached the Celtic before going to Tottenham), but I will never understand anyone wanting their own team to lose,” he said.
“There’s a football game tomorrow night, what do you think we as a team are going to do? We’re going to try to win! It’s that simple,” he expanded.
Tottenham occupies fifth place and is still trying to secure a place in the next Champions League, guaranteed fourth place in the competition. To do this, the team will have to win its two remaining games, hoping that Aston Villa (currently fourth) does not score more than one point against its last two opponents.
