Dynamo General Director Pivovarov: Ovechkin can take part in the Brotherhood Cup
Dynamo General Director Pavel Pivovarov assessed the likelihood of Washington Capitals hockey player Alexander Ovechkin participating in a football match. His words are quoted by Match TV.
Pivovarov said that Ovechkin could take part in the Brotherhood Cup in the summer. “He is one of the first candidates for participation, if we allow such a scenario,” Pivovarov shared, adding that the hockey player’s previous performance for the blue and white was a fantastic event.
The pre-season Brotherhood Cup will be held in Moscow from July 3 to 7. Four teams will play in it: Moscow Dynamo and CSKA, as well as Serbian Partizan and OFK Belgrade.
Ovechkin made his debut for Dynamo football in a friendly match against Amkal (5:0) in June 2022. He entered the field in the starting lineup with the captain’s armband and opened the scoring in the 11th minute of the match. After this, the graduate of the Moscow hockey team Dynamo was replaced.
