Russian UFC fighter acquitted Nurmagomedov after his joke about beating in the subway

Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Ramazan Emeev spoke about the joke of the former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who mentioned the beating of a Muscovite in the capital’s metro by three Dagestanis. His words are quoted by “Championship.com”.

“I see only a joke here, [боец ММА] Connor [Макгрегор] also got under the batch. We are all Russians, we are all patriots, we are always together with Russia, ”the athlete justified Nurmagomedov after his joke. He added that it is not necessary to single out those who beat Roman Kovalev on a national basis.

On October 13, Nurmagomedov linked in one joke the beating of Roman Kovalev by three Dagestanis and his fight with the Irishman Conor McGregor in October 2018. He accompanied his post with the signature: “Where is my medal from [главы Следственного комитета России Александра] Bastrykin? I was also beaten by a crowd of Dagestanis ”.

The joke caused discontent among Russian athletes and politicians. For example, State Duma deputy Nikolai Valuev said that “a person in his right mind will not shield those who behaved like animals,” and the actor Oleg Taktarov spoke obscenely about Nurmagomedov.

Kovalev was beaten by three Dagestanis after he stood up for a girl in the Moscow metro. The intruders were detained and three criminal cases were initiated against them. The victim was admitted to the hospital with fractures of the nose and orbit of the eye. Bastrykin presented Kovalev with the Valor and Courage medal.
