The home team opened the scoring 24 minutes into the first half. João Mario was launched from the left and crossed into the area, but the ball hit the arm of Brazilian defender Robson Bambu. The referee, without thinking twice, signaled the penalty. On the charge, Di María converted with ease.
In the 31st minute, Benfica scored again from the penalty spot. Orkun Kokçu was launched, invaded the area and, in an attempt to dribble the goalkeeper, ended up being knocked down. He went for the beat himself and didn’t waste it.
It didn’t take long for the third to come out. In the 41st minute, Rafa Silva connected with Fredrik Aursnes on the right and sent a shot into the back of the net. Benfica returned to the second half with everything and scored the fourth with less than a minute. Rafa Silva received a pass in the middle, made a great individual play and gave the opposing goalkeeper a dig.
In a counterattack in the 32nd minute, Rafa Silva sent a great ball in and left Casper Tangstedt in front of the goal. He dribbled past the goalkeeper and scored Benfica’s fifth goal of the game.
