The Czech Republic deprived Russian slalom rowers of the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Games
The Czech Republic did not allow Russian slalom rowers to participate in the qualifying competitions in Prague. This was announced by the head coach of the Russian slalom team, Maxim Obraztsov, as quoted by TASS.
“I don’t know what exactly the Czechs responded, but we were not allowed to qualify for the qualifying tournament in Prague,” Obraztsov said. As a result, the Russians lost the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Earlier, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine demanded that Russian rowers be removed from the Olympics. In addition, Russian canoeist Mikhail Pavlov was deprived of neutral status because of liking a video with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians, if a number of conditions are met, will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status.
