Fitness trainer Ellen Thompson named the most accessible type of cardio training. Her words are quoted by Fitandwell.com.
According to her, this is walking. “It doesn’t require a gym membership, special equipment or any special skills. Everyone can just go outside and take a walk,” she said.
Thompson noted that there is no standard for walking to qualify as cardio exercise. “Go at your own pace. Any walk for any period of time will burn some calories and will keep your heart pumping at a higher level than sitting on the couch or in front of the computer,” the trainer said.
Earlier, cardiologist Herman Gandelman named a simple exercise for the prevention of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. According to him, this is regular walking on the stairs.
