With two from Borbas, Bragantino beats Racing and leads the group in the South American Championship

This Thursday, in a game valid for the fourth round of Group E of the South American Championship, Bragantino hosted Racing at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium and won 2-1. The two winning goals were scored by Thiago Borbas, while Santiago Germán noted the only one of the visitors.

With the positive result, the São Paulo team won third in the competition and reached nine points, thus equaling the Argentine club. However, the opponent still leads the group due to goal difference. Finally, Coquimbo Unidos-CHI, with three, and Sportivo Luqueño, with just one, close Group E.

Bragantino returns to the pitch against Bahia, this Sunday, in the Brasileirão. The ball rolls at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Arena Fonte Nova. Racing faces Belgrano, on the same day, however for the Argentine Championship. The duel starts at 5:45 pm (Brasília time), at the Julio César Villagra Stadium.

The goals

Five minutes into the first half, striker Thiago Borbas opened the scoring for Bragantino in the game. The athlete took advantage of Eric Ramires’ pass, came face to face with the goalkeeper and converted the chance.

Soon after, at seven, the athlete scored the second. The player took advantage of the surplus inside the area and scored a goal.

The Argentine club reacted in the 25th minute, with Santiago Germán, who headed into the left corner of the goal.
