Arsenal announced, during the morning of this Thursday, the renewal of the contract with midfielder Jorginho, who will remain at the club for next season. He signed with the Gunners in January 2023 and took stock of his time so far, saying he was very happy with the new contract.
“It’s been really positive because I immediately felt like I was part of something big. I felt involved and really in a good place. It’s not always like that, so when you feel something like that, it’s a big deal,” he said.
βI’m very happy to stay, because it’s a privilege to be part of this family. My family is happy, we are very well settled and there is more to come!β, he added.
π¬ βI feel that everyone here can count on me.β

The Italian-Brazilian has already played more than 50 matches for the club led by Mikel Arteta. Before, he was defending Chelsea and spoke about the affection he received from Arsenal fans, even though he arrived from a London rival.
“It means a lot. And that’s one more reason to sign the contract because I feel like I can β and want β to give more to them, because they’ve given me a lot of love and support. All I want is to give back,” he explained.
Jorginho also said that he didn’t need to think long to accept the new contract, claiming that conversations with Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar were brief.
“To be honest, there wasn’t much to discuss. I feel really good here. Just knowing that they appreciate me and want me to stay longer too is something really important to me. I feel like I have more to do, That’s why I’m staying”, he said.
Along with Arsenal, Jorginho is focused on winning the English Championship. With just two rounds left until the end of the competition, the London team occupies first place in the table, with 83 points. Despite this, Manchester City is in second place, with 82 points and one less duel.
Arsenal’s last matches this season will be against Manchester United, next Sunday, and against Everton, on May 19th.
