White stressed that unlike other sports organizations, the UFC has not stopped holding events despite the coronavirus pandemic. “We were already on track in 2020 and we continued to work at the same pace this year,” he said.
In 2020, White faced criticism from journalists for his desire to hold events amid the spread of the coronavirus. The UFC only paused in April. International events were held by the UFC on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, tournaments in the United States on the territory of UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
