Wiener said that Dina Averina became a hero after winning silver at the 2020 Olympics
The head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Irina Viner, found a plus in Dina Averina’s silver medal in the individual all-around at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Her words are quoted by TASS.
Viner said that Averina has become a heroine. “If she had won gold, she would not have been greeted the way she was greeted, they wrote about her in all newspapers and magazines, she became a person who glorified our country,” she considered.
On February 25, Dina Averina and her sister Arina completed their professional careers. Wiener noted that the Averins took up government work.
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Dina Averina won silver in the individual all-around, losing to Lina Ashram from Israel. In Russia, the refereeing at the tournament was criticized, considering it biased. Averina also has 18 victories at the World Championships and 10 at the European Championships.
