Speculated at Palmeiras, Luciano Rodríguez approaches Girona, reveals agent

This Wednesday, Mauricio Machado, agent of Liverpool-URU striker Luciano Rodríguez, revealed that the athlete is close to transferring to Girona, in Spain. In addition to the European club, Palmeiras and River Plate also appear to be interested in the 20-year-old Uruguayan.

“Today we have a concrete offer directly from Girona. We had a meeting with Patanian (vice-president of River Plate) and River is interested in returning to negotiations”, he said in an interview with Sport 890.

According to Mauricio, they will meet Palmeiras this Thursday, when Liverpool-URU and Alviverde face each other in the fourth round of the Libertadores group stage. The match will be played at the Centenário Stadium, starting at 7pm (Brasília time).

“Today Girona is close. Tomorrow (Thursday) we will meet with Palmeiras and yesterday (Tuesday) we spoke with River. River’s chance is there, buying less percentage. Maybe 50%. In May, we will resolve everything. We want let this be resolved before the Copa América”, he stated.

One of the important points of negotiation is the percentage. According to Luciano’s agent, Liverpool-URU wants to maintain at least 25% of the athlete’s percentage.

“Girona offers the value that Liverpool asks for. The percentage of the pass that would be sold is being negotiated. Liverpool wants to keep at least 25%. Luciano was already talking to Stuani (Uruguayan striker who plays for the Spanish team). They talked a lot about the city, the club and the possibility of playing in the Champions League”, revealed Mauricio Machado.

This season, Luciano Rodríguez played 14 games and scored four goals. Last year, he participated in 36 matches, scored ten times and provided six assists.
