FourFourTwo included former Spartak coach Emery in the top five in the world
Former head coach of Spartak, now head of English Aston Villa, Unai Emery was included in the top 5 rating of the best active coaches in the world according to FourFourTwo magazine. A list of 50 specialists is provided on the publication’s website.
Emery, who has been with Aston Villa since 2022, finished fifth in the rankings. Under his leadership, the club reached the semi-finals of the Conference League.
The list was topped by the English coach of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola. Following him were Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, head of the German Bayer Leverkusen Xabi Alonso and Carlo Ancelotti from Real Madrid.
Emery was appointed head coach of Spartak Moscow in June 2012, but was fired five months later. After that, under his leadership, the Spanish Sevilla became a three-time winner of the Europa League, and Villarreal became a one-time winner. PSG, together with their coach, won the French championship and won the country’s Cup and Super Cup twice.
