With a goal and assist from Malcom, Al-Hilal beats Al-Ahli and approaches the Saudi title

In an event valid for the 28th round of the Saudi Championship, held this Monday, Al-Hilal visited Al-Ahli and won 2-1. The goals of the visiting team, closer to the title, were scored by Mitrovic and Malcom. Al-Buraikan scored for the home team.

With four rounds to go before the end of the tournament, the result keeps Jorge Jesus’ team in first place, now with 86 points in 30 matches, 12 more than Al-Nassr. With the defeat, Al-Ahli remains in third place, with 55 points from 30 games.

Al-Hilal returns to the field next Saturday, at 12pm (BrasΓlia time), hosting bottom team Al-Hazm, for the 31st round of the Saudi Championship. Al-Ahli also plays on Saturday, for the same championship, at 3pm, when they visit Al-Shabab.

The score was opened by Al-Ahli in the 30th minute of the opening stage. Al-Buraikan took advantage of goalkeeper Bounou’s rebound after a shot from the edge of the area and finished strongly to score the first of the match.

Al-Hilal’s response came 7 minutes into the second half. After dribbling past his marker, Brazilian Malcom crossed from the left wing and found Mitrovic, who headed the ball past the opposing goalkeeper.

The turning goal came in the 44th minute of the second half, when Malcom dominated in midfield, left five opposing players behind and shot cross-footed, left-handed, with no chance for Mendy.
