Ex-biathlete Tcherezov said that he will root for the Russians competing at the Olympic Games
Three-time world champion in biathlon Ivan Tcherezov revealed his attitude towards Russian athletes who want to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
According to the ex-biathlete, he has nothing against such athletes. “I will root for them, I will support them. Here the athlete makes the decision himself,” said Tcherezov.
The Russian also assessed the conditions for admission of compatriots to the Games. “If earlier we were simply allowed in without a flag and an anthem, now the conditions have become humiliating. They are offering us almost renunciation from the Motherland!” – Tcherezov emphasized.
The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians, if a number of conditions are met, will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status.
