Olympic medalist Ivan Alypov said that they do not want to see Russians at the 2026 Games
Bronze medalist of the 2006 Olympics in Turin in the team sprint, former skier Ivan Alypov asked a question to the Russian athletes gathered for the 2026 Games in Milan. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
“The fact is that they don’t want to see us there. What should you do in this case? If we’re not welcome there, if it’s against all the laws of sport, then what’s the point?” – said Alypov. In his opinion, Russians will feel uncomfortable in such conditions.
Russians and Belarusians will be able to take part in the 2024 Olympics as individual neutral athletes by decision of the International Olympic Committee. However, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will miss the tournament.
The 2026 Olympics will be held from February 6 to 22 in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
