In a match valid for the 36th round of the English Championship, Liverpool hosted Tottenham at Anfield and won 4-2. Salah, Robertson, Gakpo and Elliot scored the home team’s goals, while Richarlison and Son scored for the visitors.
The victory kept Liverpool in third place in the Premier League. After defeat to Everton and draw against West Ham in the previous two rounds, the “Reds” returned to winning ways and reached 78 points in 36 matches. Tottenham, in turn, continues with 60 points from 35 matches, occupying fifth place.
Liverpool’s next match will only be on another Monday, when they visit Aston Villa. Tottenham returns to the field next Saturday, in the same tournament, hosting Burnley.

The game
Liverpool opened the scoring in the 16th minute of the first half, when Salah received a cross from Gakpo on the left wing and headed the ball past the goalkeeper.
After Salah’s finish, goalkeeper Vicario rebounded and Robertson appeared in the small area to finish in the 45th minute, extending the lead for the home team.
In the 5th minute of the second half, Elliot crossed, Gakpo rose unmarked and headed the direct corner, increasing the home team’s advantage.
At 14 minutes into the second half, Elliot dribbled past two markers at the edge of the area and hit a beautiful shot into the goalkeeper’s right corner.
Richarlison scored a discount for Tottenham in the 27th minute, when he received a low cross from Johnson on the right and crossed the ball.
In the 32nd minute of the second half, Son finished strongly into Alisson’s right corner after a pass from Richarlison.
