Route, profile and schedule of stage 3 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia: Novara-Fossano (166 km)
The third stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italia will be disputed Monday May 6, starts in Novara, ends in Fossano and presents a 166 kilometer profile. The organization has ordered that cyclists begin pedaling at 1:25 p.m.and the estimate is that the winner raises his arms under the finish banner between 5:02 p.m. and 5:22 p.m. It is a flat route stage, with only one pass, of the 4th category, Lu, as the only ascent eligible for the Mountain Grand Prix.
The Giro, in its technical information on this third day of competition, highlights the presence of “some small ups and downs” in the central part of the day, which is flat. The aforementioned port of Lu will arrive at kilometer 58.1 of the stage. Although it is not scored, also at kilometer 143.9, already in the final stretch, the climb to Cherasco can bring excitement; It is precisely there where the second and last special sprint of the day will be located.
The last three kilometers of the stage are flat, with a sharp curve 1,300 meters from the end. We could attend a massive sprintis the first day of this Giro that the sprinters will have highlighted in their agendas, given that on the initial two days the presence of the mountains is much more notable.
