German league match ends in mass brawl between fans and police
A regional German league match between Dynamo Berlin and Energie Cottbus ended in a massive brawl between fans and police, resulting in 74 arrests and 155 police injuries. RBB24 writes about this.
The police used tear gas and also tried to calm the fans with the help of dogs. The match was suspended for 20 minutes in the first half. The derby between Dynamo and Energie is considered a game of increased danger in Germany.
The Energa coach complained after the game that stones were flying at him from the stands. He called such aggression “unimaginable in 2024.”
Earlier, a mass fight of fans in the stands occurred before the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between the national teams of Argentina and Brazil. After some time, the police joined the conflict. Law enforcement officers, trying to stop the fight, beat the fans with batons.
