Volunteers will appeal to the French authorities after being denied accreditation for the Olympic Games 2024
Russian volunteers made a statement amid the refusal of accreditation for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games (OSG) in Paris. RIA Novosti reports this.
Volunteers plan to appeal to French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin. “We were going to work at the Olympics, not discuss politics. It makes no difference to us where the Games are held – in France, Qatar or somewhere else. We just love this thing – volunteering,” said one of the applicants.
On April 30, it became known that applications for accreditation for the 2024 Olympic Games from more than 20 Russian volunteers were rejected by the French authorities. One of the contenders noted that she received a written refusal from the Games organizing committee.
The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians, if a number of conditions are met, will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status.
