Beterbiev’s fight with Bivol has been postponed

The fight between boxers Bivol and Beterbiev was postponed to the end of 2024

The fight between Russian boxers Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev for the title of absolute world light heavyweight boxing champion has been postponed to the end of 2024. Turki Al-Sheikh, Minister and Chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment Affairs in Saudi Arabia, announced this on Twitter.

Turki ash-Sheikh wrote that the reason was Beterbiev’s injury. He wished the boxer a speedy recovery.

Beterbiev and Bivol signed a contract to fight on April 15. The fight was supposed to take place on June 1 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

Beterbiev is the world champion in the light heavyweight category – according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO). During his career, the 38-year-old athlete won 19 victories and did not suffer a single defeat.

32-year-old Bivol won 21 victories and did not suffer a single defeat in his professional career. He holds the World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight title.
