Lucas Hernández suffers serious knee injury in PSG game and will miss the European Championship

Paris Saint-Germain announced that defender Lucas Hernández underwent an MRI this Thursday and a rupture in the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee was detected.

It was also reported that the athlete will undergo surgery in the coming days. As a result, the player will miss the end of the season for PSG and will be missing from the French team in the European Championship, which will be held between June and July this year.

On social media, the French club posted a message of support for the athlete: “Lucas, you will come back even stronger. We are all with you.”

Lucas Hernández’s injury occurred in the match against Borussia Dortmund, this Wednesday, in the Champions League semi-finals. He left the field in the 41st minute of the first stage due to physical issues, giving way to the Brazilian Beraldo.

This was the same injury the player suffered when he debuted in the 2022 World Cup against Australia. The only difference is that it had been on the right knee and now it was on the left.

Lucas Hernandéz played for Bayern Munich and was signed by Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of this season. He quickly became an important part of the French team, able to play as a left-back and defender.
