With an 11-point lead at the top, Real Madrid can become Spanish champions in next weekend’s round. In addition to winning their game, the Merengue club will need to hope for a stumble from their rival Barcelona.
Real Madrid has 84 points against Barcelona’s 73, in 33 rounds played. Real need to pick up just four more points from their remaining five games to secure the title.
To do this, Carlo Ancelotti’s team needs to win two more victories. If they beat Cádiz this Saturday, Real Madrid can become champions three rounds in advance, on May 11th, when they visit Granada.

However, the Merengues could win their 36th Spanish Championship title this Saturday, if they defeat Cádiz and depending on the result of the Barcelona game.
The Catalan club visits Girona, 3rd place with 71 points, at 1:30 pm (Brasília time). Any result other than a victory for Barça gives the title to Real Madrid, who will already know the result of their game, because they enter the field earlier, at 11:15 am.
Real is still in contention for the Champions League and faces Bayern Munich this Tuesday, at 4 pm, in the first leg of the competition’s semi-final.
