This Monday morning, defender Thiago Silva confirmed that, after four years, he will leave Chelsea at the end of the European season. In a video released on social media, the Brazilian said goodbye and revealed his desire to return to the English club in the future.
“I believe that everything I could do, over these four years, I tried to dedicate myself to the maximum. Unfortunately, everything has a beginning, middle and end. Not that this is a definitive end. I hope I can leave the doors open, so that, in the near future, I can return to perform another role here”, he said.
“Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I could achieve great things and one of my greatest professional titles, which was the Champions League and, consequently, the Club World Cup. Farewells are for those who go but don’t come back. I intend to come back one day”, he added.
Four years, countless memories.

For Chelsea, Thiago Silva took to the field on 151 occasions, scoring nine goals. Furthermore, he won a Champions League, a Club World Cup and a European Super Cup.
The defender has not yet revealed his future, but the president of Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt, has already revealed his interest in repatriating the player. In addition to the Rio club and Chelsea, Thiago Silva has spent time at Juventude, Porto, Dinamo Moscow, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
Still in his statement, Thiago Silva told a little about his beginnings and his adaptation to the London club.
“It’s a passion without explanation. I just have to be grateful. Obviously, when I started playing it was during the pandemic and there were no fans in the stadiums, but on social media it was always something special for me, and from the moment the fans were Coming back, I felt very affectionate and respectful. In normal circumstances, it is already difficult to say goodbye, and it becomes even more so when there is reciprocal love”, he said.
“I arrived as a leader of the team, even without feeling like I did, because whenever you arrive in a new environment, it’s difficult to enter and feel at ease, but little by little I found myself within the group. Lampard had a great contribution to this, so here’s my thanks to him”, he concluded.
By the end of the season, Thiago Silva will have five more commitments for Chelsea, all in the English Championship. Tottenham, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Bournemouth will be the opponents.
