City now occupies second place in the English Championship with 79 points, one point behind leaders Arsenal but with one game less played. Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, is in a complicated situation in 17th place, with 26 points, one point away from the relegation zone.
THE GAME
The match started evenly, with Nottingham Forest having its offensive actions led by Danilo (ex-Palmeiras) and Gibbs-White.
After many wasted chances by Forest, City opened the scoring with Croatian Gvardiol in the 32nd minute, heading in a corner.
The home team returned for the second half having many chances and failing to convert them into goals. Guardiola made his third substitution in the 17th minute, bringing on his goalscorer Erling Haaland, who is not going through a good phase.
It took less than nine minutes for Haaland to receive a beautiful pass from De Bruyne and increase the score for the visitors, giving final figures to the scoreboard. With this goal, Haaland surpassed Cole Palmer and is now the league’s top scorer, with 21 goals.
