The police opened a criminal libel case against the son of two-time Olympic figure skating champion Yevgeny Plushenko, who told about the mental disorder. This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash.
Plushenko and his wife, producer Yana Rudkovskaya, together with lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky, decided to punish the editors of StarHit, who published a note that their son was allegedly sick with Asperger’s syndrome. A criminal libel case was opened against unidentified persons. Under the relevant article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the culprit may face a fine of up to two million rubles or up to two years in prison.
At the end of January this year, Rudkovskaya complained that the healthy child had to undergo a prescribed forensic psychiatric examination. The producer also said that she managed to find out the name of the author of the article on Asperger’s syndrome from her son. The producer hinted that “many will have a shock” when the public recognizes him.
The Dwarf Dwarf story appeared on StarHit on May 3, 2020. Journalists who referred to experts claimed that the boy suffers from Asperger’s syndrome. Parents denied this information. Former editor-in-chief of the print version of StarHit, Andrey Malakhov, later publicly apologized to the Plushenko family, but Rudkovskaya still filed a libel suit against the publication.
