The CSKA hockey club did not renew the contract with the long-time team leader. The official website of the Moscow club reports this.
“Thank you very much for the time I spent at CSKA. Thank you for your support and trust. I will never forget this, CSKA will forever remain in my heart,” Svetlakov said in his farewell video.
The 28-year-old striker leaves CSKA due to the expiration of his contract. Svetlakov is a graduate of the army club; in the main team he played 517 matches and scored 197 points. As part of CSKA, Svetlakov became a three-time winner of the Gagarin Cup.
