Women’s CSKA beat Spartak at home in the first team derby in history

The women’s football club CSKA beat Spartak on its field in the sixth round match of the Russian Championship. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting took place on Saturday, April 27, and ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the hosts. The only goal for the red-blue team at the end of the first half was scored by Gabrielle Abudi Ongene.

The Moscow derby between CSKA and Spartak was the first in the history of Russian women’s football. The red-blue team appeared in 2016, and the red-white returned to the Russian championship this season. Before this, the Spartak women’s team was created twice and disbanded twice. The last time the club ceased to exist was in 2007.

Thanks to the victory, CSKA scored 18 points and became the sole leader of the championship. Spartak is in fifth position with 10 points.
