Sochi coach Moreno announced the poisoning of 14 players before the RPL match in Grozny
More than half of the Sochi players were poisoned before the away match of the 21st round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Akhmat Grozny. This became known on the air of the Match TV channel.
The main Sochi team, Spaniard Robert Moreno, said that because of this his team arrived late for the match. “Several players were unwell after lunch. Some felt nauseous, others had diarrhea. At first there were only two such players, but over time there were more of them, and in the end there were 14 players and five staff members,” Moreno said.
“Sochi” asked to postpone the match of the 21st round of the RPL with “Akhmat” due to mass poisoning. According to Moreno, the poisoned players are dehydrated and are not ready to play. “We were apparently forced to play, that’s why we came,” the Sochi coach said in an interview.
The match between Akhmat and Sochi is a meeting of the last two teams in the RPL table. The Grozny team is in 15th place, the Sochi team is in 17th place. The teams are separated from 12th place, which definitely allows them to stay in the RPL, by 3 and 7 points, respectively. At the time of publication of the news, the match is in its 35th minute, Akhmat is ahead with a score of 1:0.
