Ex-hockey player Zaripov submitted documents to participate in the United Russia primaries

Three-time world champion in hockey as part of the Russian national team, Danis Zaripov, submitted documents to participate in the primaries of United Russia. This was reported on the website of the Tatarstan branch of the party.

The ex-hockey player noted that parents of young athletes often contact him and ask him to help with the development of their children. “Their child has no place to study, he did not pass the competitive selection. I would like more sections and clubs to open so that every child can get a second chance in a sports career,” he said.

During his professional career, Danis Zaripov won the Gagarin Cup five times and became the world champion three times as a member of the Russian national team. During the Russian presidential elections in 2024, the hockey player was a confidant of Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, the General Director of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF), Dmitry Kurbatov, said that domestic players do not show any desire to switch to sticks of Russian origin, which are manufactured at the Zaryad plant, headed by Zaripov.
