Basketball player Swede spoke about the progress of the criminal case regarding his beating

The Swede is surprised that three participants in the conflict are being named as witnesses in the case

Russian basketball player Alexey Shved spoke for the first time about the progress of the criminal case regarding his beating. His words are quoted by Sport Express.

“All sensible people understand that I was attacked by a crowd. The attacker was not alone. Now the guys who attacked me for no reason pretended that they had not participated in anything. But for some reason the investigator and the prosecutor’s office believed them,” Shved said in an interview.

Three of the four defendants in the case of the beating of Russian basketball player and Olympic medalist Alexei Shved are now being tested as witnesses, not accused. In May 2023, Shved was attacked near a restaurant in Moscow on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street. He was taken to the surgical department of a Moscow clinic with a traumatic brain injury.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR), Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on the case of the beating of the Russian basketball player Shved. The head of the Investigative Committee demanded a report on the progress and results of the investigation and the procedural decisions made.
