Colombian striker Steven Mendoza disenchanted Turkish football: he scored his first goal for Adana Demirspor in a 1-1 draw with Samsunspor in the Turkish Championship.
Having recently passed through Santos, Mendoza celebrated the goal scored this weekend. The Colombian arrived in Turkey in February and is consolidating himself as one of the team’s main players in the Super Lig.
“Very happy to be able to score my first goal for Adana, a special feeling. Unfortunately, we were unable to achieve victory, but we gained an important point away from home, against an opponent who is close to us in the table, so we regret the result, but we gained a point that will be important in the future”, he said.
“There are still five rounds left until the end of the competition, we will work hard in these last games to be able to gain as many points as possible and finish in a good position in the table. In the next match we face Galatasaray, at home, with the support of our fans and we are going in search of victory”, he concluded.
Mendoza’s next commitment for Adana Demirspor will be next Friday (26), against Galatasaray, leader of the Turkish Championship.
