Garbiñe Muguruza announces her retirement from tennis

The tennis player Garbine Muguruza announced this Saturday his retired as a professional at the age of 30, ending a career in which she has won, among other titles on the WTA circuit, two ‘Grand Slam’ trophies, in addition to having reached number one in the world.
“The time has come to say goodbye. It has been a long, beautiful career, with beautiful moments, anecdotes… I feel that the time has come to retire and open a new chapter of my life. It sounds very strong to use the word retire because I have 30 years,” he said at his farewell press conference.
With this, the athlete born in Caracas, who has not played for more than a year, says goodbye to the circuit with ten WTA titles behind their backs, including those of Roland Garros 2016 -against the American Serena Williams- and Wimbledon 2017 -against Venus Williams-, as well as the trophy of the WTA Finals of 2021.
Furthermore, in 2017 it reached number one in the worldwhich allowed her to be named best tennis player of the year.
