Kostya Tszyu said that he did not want the Bivol-Beterbiev fight to take place
Former absolute world boxing champion Konstantin Tszyu expressed regret over the organization of the fight between Russians Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. His words are quoted by Sport24.
According to the ex-athlete, he really didn’t want his compatriots to meet each other. “I promised myself at one time that I would not fight with any of our people. And I managed to do it. But there was a different situation, no one came across to me, no one reached this level,” said the boxer.
Tszyu found it difficult to give preference to anyone in the upcoming fight. “Everything will depend on the preparation of each athlete. The chances here are very equal,” said the ex-champion.
On April 15, it became known that Bivol will fight Beterbiev on June 1 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The winner will become the undisputed light heavyweight world champion.
