Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Petr Yan attended a football match in the correctional colony IK-46 in Nevyansk. This was reported on the website of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service for the Sverdlovsk Region.
The match was attended by convicts and football players of the Titan-Traffic club from Yekaterinburg. The meeting ended with the victory of the guests in a penalty shootout (in regular time the score was 7:7).
Before the start of the match, the former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gave a parting speech to the convicts, in which he touched on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and playing sports. He also left autographs for prisoners and colony staff.
On March 10, Yang defeated China’s Song Yadong at UFC 299 to break a three-fight losing streak. The fight ended in favor of the Russian with a unanimous decision of the judges.
In total, Yan has 17 wins and five losses in MMA. The 31-year-old is a former UFC bantamweight champion.
