Evgeni Malkin’s father said that the hockey player wins thanks to Russian cuisine
Vladimir Malkin, the father of National Hockey League (NHL) Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin, linked his victories to Russian cuisine. His words are quoted by TASS.
“When we arrive, it seems to me that his desire to score increases, it becomes stronger. His mother fed him Russian food, and this also has an effect,” said Malkin Sr. He added that Russian soups are almost impossible to find in the United States.
Malkin’s parents arrived in the United States at the end of March and attended their son’s NHL matches. On April 3, the hockey player became the first star of the day, scoring two goals in the regular season match against the New Jersey Devils. Prior to this, in home games with the Columbus Blue Jackets (3:2) and Tampa Bay Lightning (5:4), Malkin also scored a double.
Malkin, 37, has been playing for Pittsburgh since 2006. Together with the team, the Russian hockey player became a three-time Stanley Cup winner.
