Instructor Churkina: “downward-facing dog” improves blood supply to the brain
Yoga instructor Alexandra Churkina spoke about the benefits of the downward-facing dog pose. Her words are quoted by Sport Express.
The specialist explained that this asana improves blood supply to the brain due to blood flow to the head, stimulates the digestive tract, stretches the back of the thigh and improves the mobility of the shoulder girdle. Also, according to the expert, the mind calms down during the exercise.
Churkina emphasized that there are a number of restrictions for performing “downward-facing dog.” She noted that one should not do the asana if there are injuries to the wrists, shoulders, elbows, dizziness, headaches and high blood pressure. Also, the exercise is contraindicated for pregnant women in the last trimester.
Previously, Churkina spoke about the benefits of yoga for men. She explained that meditation and breathing exercises make it easier for men to cope with stress and improve their overall mood.
