Wrexham, actor Ryan Reynolds’ club, gains access to the English third division

The Welsh club Wrexham, whose owners are actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, secured, this Saturday, its second access in two years, which will allow it to play next season in the third division of English football.

Welsh teams can compete in English football tournaments. Swansea and Cardiff, for example, recently competed in the Premier LeagueEnglish first division.

A 6-0 thrashing of Forest Green allowed Wrexham’s Red Dragons to secure promotion to League One, the third division, a year after leaving the semi-professional divisions.

Wrexham thus continues its private adventure after being bought by two Hollywood actors. His story is followed in the documentary “Welcome to Wrexham”, produced by Reynolds and McElhenney.

Wrexham’s growing notoriety in the United States allowed the team to undertake a pre-season tour of North America, including even matches against Chelsea e Manchester United.

Canadian Ryan Reynolds, 47, known for his role as a superhero in “Deadpool”, among others, expressed his goal of one day taking Wrexham to the Premier League.
