Omsk Avangard will sign a contract with Olympic medalist from Canada Wei
Olympic medalist from Canada Linden Wei will move to Avangard Omsk. This was reported on the team’s website.
The club will sign a one-year agreement with the hockey player. Avangard noted that they wanted to see Wei in the lineup earlier, but there were problems with the previous contract.
“Wey will add variety and skill to us in the midline. “This is a highly qualified center forward with a right grip, who has proven his worth in his career, including in decisive games for the Gagarin Cup,” the statement said.
32-year-old Wei spent last season in the German Adler Mannheim. Previously, the player played in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for the Kazakh Barys, St. Petersburg SKA and Moscow CSKA, with whom he won the 2019 Gagarin Cup. As a member of the Canadian team, he became a bronze medalist at the 2018 Olympics.
