The NOC of Ukraine called on not to allow Russian wrestlers to participate in the 2024 Olympics
The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine made a statement about the performance of Russian and Belarusian wrestlers at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This is reported on the organization’s website.
In Ukraine they called on not to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus due to violation of the requirements of neutrality and support for the SVO. They demanded that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) take action.
The United World of Wrestling (UWW) has decided to allow Russian athletes to participate in international tournaments in a neutral status in April 2023. To do this, they need to comply with IOC recommendations.
Russians and Belarusians will be able to take part in the 2024 Olympics as individual neutral athletes by decision of the International Olympic Committee. However, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will miss the tournament. In addition, there will be no representatives of the two countries’ team sports in Paris.
