Barcelona president praises players and shows confidence for clash with PSG

Barcelona president Joan Laporta commented on the game against Paris Saint-Germain and expressed confidence for the duel. The match will be held this Wednesday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at Parque dos Príncipes, and is valid for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

“It has been many years since we reached the quarter-finals, today we are here against PSG. We are looking forward to playing this game, believing in our possibilities”, said Laporta to Barcelona’s official media.

Although the Parisian team is full of great players, including French striker Kylian Mbappé, Laporta showed confidence in the Catalan club’s athletes.

“I see them very focused, very motivated, very united. They are aware of the importance of these quarter-finals and what it would mean for the club to reach the semi-finals. I see them really very united. I also see the coach very convinced of our possibilities. The players believe in themselves, they believe in the team, and that makes us believe in them”, he stated. “I believe in them a lot and I’m one of those who wouldn’t trade any of our players for one of the others,” he concluded.

With the confidence of their president, Barcelona hope to reach the Champions League semi-finals after five years. The last time the Catalan club played at this stage was in the 2018/19 season, when Argentine star Lionel Messi was still in the team.
