Mixed style fighter (MMA) Jeff Monson complained of bullying and threats from former compatriots, as well as family problems after renouncing his American citizenship. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The athlete also noted that he lost several friends, but does not regret his decision. “Most of my family, my aunts, uncles, cousins, don’t talk to me anymore, I’m like an outcast in the family circle, but it’s worth it,” Monson added.

Last May, Monson said he had renounced his American citizenship. In 2016, the fighter became a citizen of the LPR. In May 2018, he received Russian citizenship. In addition, the fighter is an honorary citizen of Abkhazia.

The 53-year-old athlete is known for his performances in MMA. He scored 60 victories and 26 defeats in mixed martial arts.
