Tarasova said that Bach is not coping well with the duties of IOC president
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the work of Thomas Bach as head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Her words are quoted by RB Sport.
Tarasova said that Bach is not coping well with his duties as IOC president. “There are only double standards with him. A normal leader would make every effort to ensure that the strongest athletes from all countries compete at the Olympics. Now they are doing the opposite,” she noted.
Earlier, former Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov accused the IOC of creating an atmosphere of snitching. This is how he responded to the organization’s creation of a special commission that monitors statements by Russian athletes in the media and on the Internet.
In December 2023, the IOC allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in Paris as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the 2024 Games. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
