Mizulina on the criteria for admitting Russians to the Games: this is an attempt to destroy our sport

The head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, spoke about the criteria for admitting Russians to the 2024 Olympic Games. Her words are quoted by Sport Express.

In her opinion, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is trying to destroy Russian sports. “This is an attempt to destroy us, to put in these places those who are needed. And then it’s money, contracts. This is unfair competition, which is done using crooked methods,” Mizulina said.

The head of the Safe Internet League noted that the IOC’s decisions threaten sport as such. “This will lead to the Olympic Games simply devaluing their status and being replaced by something else. It’s a pity that this happens. But this is all before our eyes, we are witnesses to some kind of revolution,” she added.

In December 2023, the IOC allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Games in Paris as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the competition. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
