Slutsky’s Shanghai Shenhua won for the fifth time and showed the best start in China
The Shanghai Shenhua football club, under the leadership of Russian coach Leonid Slutsky, showed the best start in its history in the Chinese championship. RIA Novosti reports this.
The team won a crushing victory over Wuhan Free Towns, which became the fifth in a row for the wards of 52-year-old Slutsky. After five matches of the Chinese championship, Shanghai Shenhua is in the lead with 15 points.
Slutsky’s signing of a contract with Shanghai became known on December 27 last year. The specialist headed the club from January 1, 2024.
Slutsky’s last club was Rubin Kazan, where he worked from 2019 to 2022. He left the team of his own free will. The coach is known for his work at Krylia Sovetov, Moscow, CSKA, as well as the English Hull City and the Dutch Vitesse. In addition, from 2015 to 2016 he led the Russian national team.
