João Félix, from Barcelona, aims to start against PSG in the Champions League and praises Mbappé

This Monday, in an interview with Radio CataloniaJoão Félix, striker of Barcelonaanalyzed the first match against Paris Saint Germain valid for the quarter-finals of Champions League. The Portuguese stated that he likes big games and hopes to be on the field for as long as possible.

“I want to be in it, help in whatever way I can. It’s the games in which I’m most motivated, which give me the best results. I hope to be on the field as much as I can. The competitiveness here at the club is very high. At some point, some are in a better moment than others, but I always did my job, I never gave up, I never stopped doing things. I think this question (of ownership) is more for Xavi, not so much for me”, he stated.

The striker took the opportunity to praise the Barcelona coach and revealed his desire for Xavi to continue at the end of the season. “He’s a fantastic guy. He understands the players very well because he was a player himself, he understands what it means to represent Barça and he understands us very well. You help us and we like your ideas. We’re with him (…) But it will be up to the president to decide. Whatever the president decides, the team will be with him.”

João Félix claimed that the Catalans must ‘raise their level’ in relation to the duel against Napoli, in the round of 16. Furthermore, he highlighted the decision-making capacity of Kylian Mbappé, PSG striker. “We have to raise our level for the game against Napoli. PSG is better than Napoli and we will have to do a little more, they are a great team, well trained, we have to raise our level and use our strength”.

“Perhaps he (Mbappé) is the best striker in the world. I like the way he plays. Whether he receives (the ball) at his feet or goes into space, he is very fast and has quality. In other words, he is very decisive and makes a difference in any team he is in”, said the number 14.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain duel, this Wednesday, at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, in Spain, at 4pm (Brasília time). Whoever advances to the semi-final will face the winner of the clash between Atlético de Madrid e Borussia Dortmund.
