Monterrey coach Sanchez calls Lionel Messi a possessed dwarf with the face of the devil

Monterrey assistant coach Nico Sanchez criticized Inter Miami’s Argentine striker Lionel Messi after the first leg of the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. His words are quoted by The Guardian.

Inter Miami lost with a score of 1:2. After the meeting, team coach Gerardo Martino, along with Messi, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba, expressed dissatisfaction with Guatemalan referee Walter Lopez. Sanchez also entered the fray. He called Messi a possessed dwarf with the face of the devil and also insulted Martino.

Sanchez later apologized to Martino. He stated that he takes responsibility for what happened. However, the coach did not mention Messi.

On February 24, it became known that Messi had become the most popular athlete in the United States. In a survey of people over 12 years of age, Messi was more popular than ex-basketball player Michael Jordan and former American football player Tom Brady.

36-year-old Messi joined the Inter Miami squad in the summer of 2023. His contract with the club runs until the end of the 2024/2025 season. As part of the team, he won the League Cup.
