Evenepoel undergoes successful surgery for Itzulia’s clavicle fracture

The Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick Step) has been successfully operated on for the clavicle fracture he suffered in the multiple fall of the fourth stage of Itzulia played last Thursday.
Evenepoel has been operated on by Dr. Steven Claes, an operation that has been carried out “without complications”so the Belgian champion, winner of four races this season, has been discharged to recover, his team has reported.
After the fall he suffered in Euskadi, the tests carried out on Evenepoel revealed fractures in the right clavicle and scapula.
At the moment, his team has not specified the recovery time of the winner of the 2022 Vuelta, but it is expected that he can be at the start of the Tour de France at the end of June in Florence (Italy).
