Vyalbe said that she is not going to invite foreign skiers to tournaments in Russia
The head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (RFRF), Elena Vyalbe, assessed the possibility of inviting Norwegian athletes to competitions in Russia. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
Vyalbe said that she is not going to invite foreign athletes to tournaments in Russia, since they do not invite Russians to international ones.
On April 4, Vyalbe criticized the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach. She called the head of the IOC scum and said that she did not respect him as an Olympic fencing champion.
On October 25, 2023, the Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) extended sanctions against Russian athletes. For the first time, restrictions on the performance of Russians at international ski tournaments were imposed in March 2022.
